About the Heart Work Conference: Survivor-led Expertise in Practice
Mar 19-21, 12:00PM – 4:30PM EST
WomenatthecentrE’s Heart Work Conference is a multi-day event to explore eradicating gender-based violence through transformative practices, activism and advocacy, arts-based facilitators, and most importantly, survivor-led practices. These are essential in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) prioritizing the voices, lived experience, and needs of those who have directly encountered violence. Centring survivor-led initiatives is instrumental in creating safer, more supportive and inclusive communities for survivors and advancing toward a future free from violence.
About WomenatthecentrE
WomenatthecentrE is the first Canadian incorporated organization created by survivors, for survivors. Since their founding in 2008, they have been working to place the voices of women-identified survivors of gendered violence at the centre of decision-making, policy change, and personal advocacy. They are the true experts, and the organization channels their shared experiences to create a better world for everyone.
